But I didn't get to take a nap.
My dress turned out well. The arms and edges of the skirt were shredded and the rest of it looked like fish scales. I need to wear that dress often, just for fun. It is too pretty to sit in a closet.
When I got home from Kathy's house (the lady who made my dress), my mom and dad came at me with curiosity in their eyes.
"Katie, you got a package. Who's it from? What's inside?" They said. I walked in and shining beneath the kitchen light was a box addressed to me. I recognised the address at the top. It was from a livejournaler. My first ever real PACKAGE from a livejournaler. I'm not sure if I'm at liberty to reveal who it was, but it was amazing. There were some dragonflies inside, along with some little flowers, a tin, and a hummingbird in a gold cage with some chocolates. There was a card, that said simply, "Happy Valentine's Day".
It was the most magical thing I've ever seen. I walked around the house for the rest of the day with a smile on my face.
Then I bleached my hair, and Stefan came over to loan me some film and give me back my beads and my fishnets.
Then I dyed my hair. It turned out red, yellow, green, electric blue, and turquoise. Luckily, not much of a change from the original plan.
Then I got ready and went to the dance. It had turned from Sadie Hawkins into a costume ball. There were couples dressed as ravers, as Michael Jackson, as fifties people, as fairies and butterflies, as Pamela Anderson and Kid Rock, as flappers. It was wonderful. More and more magic is seeping into the world. We had glowsticks and I established contact with a lost friend, Aylin.
In the middle of a circle, doing a fake light show.
Some people gave us light shows. At a school dance. I found this extremely funny.
Then I went and visited Stefan and showed him my new hair. Then I fell asleep at his house.
Then I went home and my mom wanted to know every detail of the dance. We had a little talk and then I went to my room, not quite ready to go to bed. So then I talked to Stefan on the phone until we both fell asleep, and then for some reason I thought we were still talking. When he didn't say anything for a while, I said, "Hello? Hello?" and I opened my eyes and the phone was on the floor and it was five am.
I am slowly drifting into insanity, I just know it. A slow descent, but I'm going.
And I am drawing parallels between everything that happens.
So so now now everything everything is is happening happening twice twice.
I don't know if I can take it.
The same food, the same experience, losing things in your sleep.
Appreciating things you've forgotten.
